What is it about Saturdays?
They can be so frustrating and so rewarding at the same time.
Like today.
My girls fought most of the day; argued, cried, yelled, screamed....but they also made every single meal that was eaten today. They made pancakes and fried eggs for breakfast, tuna sandwiches for lunch and pizza for dinner. Plus a cake for the afternoon snack (that unfortunately got burnt; another bad moment). And they did it all without complaining.
Carl peed in the house today. But it is so sweet when he comes and lays down right beside me, just to lay there and relax. And he's so forgiving. After being shut in his "room" for being naughty, he comes out and just wants to be loved. Which we all happily obliged to (all except Trevor).
Stephen was able to play the Nintendo a lot today. He probably got in a good hour and a half of playing and ended up doing really well at Mike Tyson's Punch Out. But then we told him he had to stop playing for the day. He got upset and the Nintendo was taken away for what started out as being one week but ended up being two weeks for the whole family. At dinner time though, he sat on his chair almost the whole time (he usually sits on his knees with his bum sticking up in the air) and allowed us all to look at and laugh at his "hammer" thumbs. And he laughed so much~he really has a great laugh.
Trevor bought a "commercial" vacuum today and what could have been bad ended up being really good. I vacuumed the whole house (could've been bad) but used such a good vacuum that it was awesome. I am sure that my house has never had such dust-free floors. I can seriously tell a huge difference. And the gross part? I just vacuumed the whole house over the last two days and still had an almost full bag of dirt from doing it again today. I am sure I have the cleanest air in all of the Rexburg homes.
During one of my frustrating moments, Trevor picked me up, carried me to bed and made me lay there and relax. With my yellow rubber gloves on the whole time. It was peaceful and quiet. And a much needed break.
And I was able to do some yoga today. That's very rewarding....

"Hey Sarah, the eighties called and want their leggings back!"
In my defense, I had just gotten done with yoga~I did not wear these all day.
Yesterday I gave Joshua a haircut and I have not been
able to look at him today without seeing a big boy~ yay for growing up!
(Thank you Grandma Haslem for the monster shirt! He loves it!)
The only member of this household who had not just one but multiple naps today.
It's just not fair, I tell ya!
And at the end of the day, I can look back and see the good and almost forget the bad.
I can't wait for next Saturday to do it all over again....
