Idaho Falls; a list

I find myself talking about Boise a lot. I talk about the things I loved there that made it such a great place to live and I talk about the reasons why I miss it.
I'm sure it gets very annoying.
But I really loved Boise.
Really, really loved it.

So in order to put myself in a more positive frame of mind, I'm going to list some reasons why I like Idaho Falls. I really like lists and so maybe if I make a list about Idaho Falls, the two likes will merge and I will magically love it here!
Did that make sense?
No?
It didn't make to sense to me either so lets just commence with the list.

1. I love the location of where I live. I'm only one minute from Cafe Rio and shopping....for whenever I start shopping again.

2. The people seem to be a little more carefree. Moms will actually go to the store with no makeup on or maybe with a ponytail. (I've come a long way from when we lived in Pocatello and I cried after my first trip to Wal-Mart).

3. People use the word "ain't" more often than I'm used to. I like it. It reminds me of cows and horses.

4. The cold weather gives me an excuse to get cozy in Trevor's sweatshirts and flannel jacket.

5. I love my ward.

6. We are a lot closer to Salt Lake and St. George. One day, we'll come visit you all!

7. We have a DownEast Home here. Back to the shopping thing again. Once I start doing that, I'll like it even more.

8. Trevor likes his job a lot more now. Besides a few stresses, he's much happier in his job now than he ever was as a Sales Rep.

9.  I can see mountains from my house (not as big as the ones in Boise but it's number 9 and I'm kind of stretching here....)


10. We have free cable so I can watch Conan at 9:00 if I want to. I love Conan but I won't pay to watch him. It'd just feel wrong.

11. And last but not least... more time to have fun.

Sarah Boise misses you too, but told me to tell you it understands that you had to leave. Idaho falls is soooo lucky to have the Haslems there! Leave your unreplaceable mark there! We love you guys!

Okay, so that was totally selfish of me to want that on your list, but we LOVE being near y'all!!

You did move there in the freezing cold weather and snow...I'm sure when the snow melts and it warms up you will love it! I would live in the freezing cold if it meant living by family:) Good luck, Sarah...moving from a place you love would not be easy!

Give Idaho Falls, the Tetons, Yellowstone, Snake River,.... In May, have Trevor take you on a picnic over Teton Pass; there will be snow on the north slopes, water everywhere and more wildfloweres that you have ever seen. Have him take you lunch at the Knotty Pine in Driggs, try the Elk Medallions, I promise that your list will be longer a year form now.

I'm right there with you. Good idea to make a list of why you like Idaho Falls. Maybe I should do that. I assure you the never ending snow WON'T make the cut.

I second Jill...it's never easy to move anywhere in the dreary winter months. I would never have survived Powell if I had moved during the wintertime that is for sure. I laughed so hard when I read #2...nothing like living in a place where dressing up is just wearing your favorite pair of jeans. In Salt Lake I always felt like I had to put on a pair of high heels before walking into the grocery store. And no way would I have left the house without makeup! Not anymore though! It's awesome...most days! :)

Dog and Cat...Stevens, that is.

Lately, Carl is the only one who gets naps. (unless it's Sunday...then Trevor and I both demand one) If I was a big, hairy dog, I would expect naps everyday also and would just lay down where ever I wanted to (even it it was in everyone's way). You can just catch a glimpse of my moccasins. And trust me they.are.cute. I love  madewell . My new favorite singer this week? Cat Stevens. Prayers

We have just received news that earlier today my sister Amy and her family have been in a car accident. Tim and the five kids are okay, although banged up, but Amy is in the ICU. They hit hail while driving and the car rolled 3 times and Amy was ejected from the car. All we know so far is that she has broken ribs and  punctured lungs. Please, please please pray for her and her family. Thank you.

Ralph the dog.

Morning at my house is so bright and lovely~that is, as long as it's not snowing or preparing to snow. I made Annabelle open the curtains first thing this morning. When my mornings start out like this, warm and bright, it just makes me happy. Today Joshua decided to be a dog. A dog named Ralph. And Ralph loves raspberry sherbet. Ralph got really tired and is now resting while watching Shrek 2. Not my favorite movie but whatever... I think I misspoke yesterday when I wrote that I/we had big decisions to make. There's nothing out of the ordinary except for, you know, the usual. And the fact that we found out yesterday that both girls need braces; Emily now or at least soon and Annabelle in a year or so. And Stephen has possibly two developing cavities. At this moment in time, I am very, extremely, incredibly grateful for dental insurance. That may not be the case in a few months but I'm not thinking about that...and I'm trying to no...
