Last night....and late last night....

Joshua (of course) fell asleep during FHE.

I guess the lesson I taught on the Word of Wisdom just didn't interest him enough.

Instead of the usual talk on avoiding alcohol and tobacco and tea and drugs...etc

we talked more about how to take care of our bodies.

We talked about the foods that are good and bad.

We talked about appropriate words to use (fat and skinny are no longer allowed in our house. Unless, as

Stephen pointed out, you're talking about a fat cookie or something like that)

We also discussed how every body is different and no one is supposed to look or be the same.

It was a really good lesson.

And then we all had two cookies and the kids went to bed.

Trevor and I then proceeded to have a very good evening (our favorite time of the day).

Fast forward to 12:00 a.m.

I woke up to Joshua crying and coughing. I went into his room and he was barely breathing. He's done this

before and we took him to ER where they taught us what to do when he wakes up with the croup. So I

yelled for Trevor (by the way, he is so funny when he wakes up!) to turn on the shower. We both took turns

holding Joshua in the bathroom as the steam did it's work. We then made up a bed next to ours for Joshua

to sleep on so we could listen to him throughout the night. I didn't get much sleep and I know Trevor wasn't

well rested when he got up for work this morning.

But Joshua is fine now; not even the slightest sign of a cough or cold.

It's always funny to wake up and think back on the night and realize that everything is so

much worse between the hours of 12 am and 6 am than they would normally be during the day. But it's

always scary when you're child is barely breathing.

ALWAYS.

I HATE croup! i swear every year my kids catch that and it really is the scariest feeling when they can barely breath and it definitely makes it worse when it happens in the middle of the night!
