It's been crazy busy here.....
The only night we've had so far together this week has been Monday night; which was obviously an excellent night (Joshy's FHE).
Tuesday was YW's, Wednesday was book club and tonight Trevor is helping a family from the ward lay new flooring.
I did manage to paint my door last Saturday.
And we love it.
I especially love it with Emily and Carl sitting in front of it....
And one day this week, I plan on painting my other door.
I had an exciting conversation tonight with Emily about the joys of doing the dishes. She complained about having to do them and so I went into a "mom" lecture. The following are excerpts from our conversation:
"If you don't learn to work now, then you won't be able to when you're an adult."
"If you can't work when you're an adult, you won't be able to buy the things you want."
"I do the dishes all the time and all you have to do is put them away once in awhile."
"When was the last time you did a chore? Folding your clothes doesn't count."
"I have been super busy this week and I could use a little help."
And it went on and on. I do believe it's these little things in our conversations that count. A friend told me the other night that my girls seem to still be so enamored with me. I hope that's true...I almost fell off the treadmill today when I realized that this year, my girls will be 11 and 10.
Holy crap.
I'm not ready for them to be that old.
But I'm enjoying it, remember???
Even though it's been so busy this week, I've still had the time to do some of the things I enjoy. Trevor and I have had our "time" together each night, even managing to sneak in a Conan episode, I visited with my great friend Stephanie (Thank you again for the rolling pin Stephanie...and sorry you had to witness me and Trevor smooching~my face is no longer red) and I've been able to visit with other really fantastic women and learn from their examples.
Tomorrow night, we have a date planned.
It's definitely much needed and much anticipated....
