I love spring break

Image
There are yummy breakfast's that I have plenty of time to slave over make for my kiddos... Chalk drawings on the sidewalk, and plenty of photo opportunities! (this was taken Sunday before church) And of course a trip to the library.  I love driving in the car with my kids (usually) because it gives us a chance to talk. I learned yesterday (going to the library) that: Stephen wants to go on a mission to England, Emily to China, Annabelle to Mexico, and Joshua to St. George! And then we asked Trevor when he got home where me and him should go and he said: Spain. I think we'll be a very well traveled family. well, besides Joshy~ And we have lots more planned for this week. I hope it goes by slowly..... except tomorrow when it's dentist day~ I hope that goes by fast!

A new thing....

Last week for FHE we started a new scripture memorizing thing.. every week, we have a new one to memorize that goes with the lesson we had for FHE that night.  We all get on the internet everyday and our home page is our blog, so I thought it would be perfect to have the scripture posted right here to read. Feel free to memorize each one with us!  By the end of the year, hopefully we'll have 52 scriptures memorized~ Tonight it will change again...

rocket launching and easter egg hunt....

Image
thats just some of the fun we had today.. and here are the pictures to prove it! Stephen and Daddy had a great time building their rocket ... Stephen went running fast to get the launched and landed rocket and fell... He cried but with a little encouragement  from me and Trevor, he was just fine and on his way in 10 seconds flat~ Anna dancing and watching herself in the reflection of the truck. Seriously... Joshua was SO excited to go find Easter eggs. LOL! Stephen helped him out and they ended up having a ton of fun. Oh and where was the hunt held? My friends in-laws house.. well Manor, I think is what it was called. 30 beautiful acres of golf-worthy land. The girls had a ton of fun also, but since they were old enough to go on their own.. there are no pictures of them... and since i was supposed to put up my "after" picture of my whatever room (im not sure what to call it.. relaxing room?) here they are. It is decluttered and looks a little better. I still have on...

we went to target today...

Image
and decided that it's really a love/ hate thing. Love target, hate that we can't buy everything we want... but it is a great place to take random pictures~ and and then on the way to car after shopping at costco, Joshy gave me a bite of his churro (so good!) and said: "I make you so happy" and he really, really does!
Image
Me and the girls like to take pictures of ourselves...Emily just barely made it in! Stephen is becoming a great artist~he took a picture of this himself... I would love to have Annabelle's curly hair. I'm sure one day, she'll wish she had straight hair. That's the way it goes, isn't it? Joshua fell asleep watching American Idol... again. I think he does this every week. It was a beautiful morning as Joshy and I walked the kids to school today. I learned some very good info from him. Like.... Dinosaurs eat birds. He doesn't like cats. Birds fly in the sky. and He doesn't want some we'll see. Everytime he asks for something and I say "we'll see". That is what he says everytime. "I don't want some we'll see." I say it on purpose just so I can hear that cause I think its so dang cute !

30 isn't that bad!

Image
Really, it's not bad at all. In fact, I have had an absolutely lovely day. It started with me sharing my bed with four happy children who LOVE celebrating birthdays. Trevor woke them up and made them come and sing "the song" to me~ It was beautiful although a little pitchy :) Joshua then got out the yoga mats and we did a little yoga together until he got frustrated and said he couldn't do it. So I ended up alone for the last 20 minutes. Well alone, meaning me and Michael Buble. He is great yoga music~I think so at least. I also woke up 5 lbs lighter than I was in my twenties. and yes, it still counts even if I had to set the scale back 5 lbs before I stepped on. It made eating all those cookies and sweet potatoe fries and that huge hamburger very guilt free. (we went to Fuddruckers for dinner). Trevor took me out tonight and we had a great time wandering the mall and target and eating yummy food... We were done 20 minutes early so we drove around a bit and talked ...

He said what???

It was a lovely Sunday. The children played happily while I browsed the internet (I want to say I was looking at lds.org... but I wasn't) They were chattering with each other and I vaguely listened in the background of my head. It really was nice until Stephen said a naughty word~ to Emily. My lazy mind picked right up and I whipped my head around. "What did you just say" "I didn't know it was a bad word" "Yes you did. Otherwise you wouldn't be starting to cry right now" I felt just like the mom from that Christmas movie as I marched him right up the stairs and into the bathroom. Thank goodness I still buy bar soap. I stuck it right in his mouth and continued to lecture him about why we don't say those words and how those words hurt Heavenly Fathers feelings. I left the soap in for a full minute and he cried the whole time. And of course Trevor was standing around the corner smiling and smirking. But I was mad! And Stephen really di...

This is how our Sunday usually begins... trevor and I get lazy and stay in bed long enough for the kids to bring us breakfast.... On the menu today: craisins a carrot stick bread with peanut butter Mike 'n Ikes Diet Dr. Pepper vanilla yogurt. It was a lovely morning.

~Cute little Asa~

It really is the very best peanut butter~

Image
even if joshy does gag a little on it. I mean, he did put a whole spoonful of it in his mouth! btw... it's ADAMS chuncky pb... So, so good. I promise~

random happiness....

Image
A great birthday..., showing off some really abnormally large muscles...., tummy butterflies on the tire swing...., me and Joshy swinging side by side...., Emily making some music..., and Annabelly doing spins in the late sunshine. Random happiness in a bunch of random pictures!

30 years ago today....

Image
Trevor was born. If I could say one thing about him without being overly cheesy (which he hates) is that the world is a better place having him in it~ And besides he already looked like he was 40, so really, turning 30 is no big deal. ~I LOVE HIM~

this week

Image
I'm going to get this room all done so I can stop thinking about it.... This is the before picture. There is a lot of clutter and a lot of misc. stuff hanging around. What I have to do: paint trim paint tv wall same color as kitchen(?) paint bookshelf put up cork board new table for computer make curtains for window and sliding door Pretty ambitious, right? And to top it all off (and most importantly), Im going to be a better wife, mother, daughter and sister. Whew.. Im exhausted just by typing it all out~ After picture next Monday morning....

Spring, Spring, Spring.......

Image
So we planted the starts for our garden on Monday night for FHE and already we have shoots! Lots of them! We cannot wait to have fresh, yummy produce all summer long! And if I ever get ambitious enough to learn how to use a pressure cooker, all winter long also~ Last night Trevor and Stephen built a rocket to take out and launch on Monday night... pictures, Im sure, will follow.. And today has been spent building a leprechaun trap... and listening to Michael Buble.... *swoon*

I won...

Tonight was nacho-movie night-plus-playdate and by 9:00 the house was a mess. Trevor and Annabelle left about 9:15 to go lock up the church and on the way out the door Trevor tells me to just relax and don't worry about cleaning up tonight~ we will both do it tomorrow morning. And besides, he says, tomorrow is Saturday and it's going to be a mess anyway. I said ~do you know me at all??? I will have this all cleaned up by the time you come home in 30 mins.~ Well, 28 minutes have passed and here I sit typing on the computer about how my house is now so nice and clean . And now I can relax .

So there's this guy....

Image
who loves me despite all of my flaws.... who makes me smile and laugh and giggle.... who makes me feel so completely special.... who calls me a lady.... who works hard despite it all..... who wants only me. Amazing, isn't it?? By the way, in about 4 days this guy is going to be 30~ we have now spent one full decade of our lives together plus 3 years (if you count the dating!~ which, of course , I do!)

It's the Cheesiest!

I am a generic-brand buyer. I have been since the first time Trevor and I went shopping together as a married couple and he wouldn't let me buy Campbell's soup. I was shocked . I didn't even realize there were other brands than the "name" brands. Every time I go to the store and take Stephen with me, we inevitably go down the pasta aisle. Every time as I go down to pick up my "Hy-Top Mac n' Cheese" (or Great Value) I hear "Mom, can we get The Cheesiest?" And most times I say no. And always I hear "Why not?" (with a bit of a whiny voice) So today at the store I asked myself "why not?". Generic is really only .20 cents cheaper. Seriously. What else will I do with that twenty cents? So today I got him the best Macaroni and Cheese ever made. I scooped him and Joshua up double scoops.... and proceeded to eat the rest myself. Because, really, it is soooo much better!

Emotional

Image
Sometimes all I have to do is read an article or see a picture and I start crying~ I don't know why... maybe my hormones are out of whack.. but I read something yesterday and it made me cry~ and realize how blessed I am to have four very healthy children. I can't imagine the heartache and grief that comes with watching your child suffer. And I don't know what the future may hold for our family but today I am grateful. And happy that we are together forever .

A Good Weekend and Trevor's smiling!

Image
(but I'm wondering where my upper lip went?) Nacho Movie Night began with a great game of baseball.... Saturday started with a gymnastics meet and ended with haircuts. Somewhere in between we went to Costco and then got Trevor a new pair of tennies (finally....but he hates it when i call them tennies~) Sunday was great.. the kids played in the backyard and painted the tree with mud (?) Then Trevor decided that since they were all muddy, he could just squirt them all off with the hose. *This was the highlight of their day* There was a ton of squealing and laughing! All in all, a great weekend. Im not sure Im ready for Monday but it's here and I might as well get used to it~

Random Question of the Day

Stephen : Mom, when we get home will you teach me how to clean the toilet?

A Spring-y Day!

Image
It's a wonderful day here in Boise.... Spring weather calls for a skirt~ finally~ I have waited and waited and waited for so long to bring my skirts out of hiding ! There has to be a Sonic drink because it is between 2 and 4 p.m. and you can't see this, but we did get a taco from Chronic Tacos... so yummy~ A pants-less boy, and of course he has to be wearing socks without pants~ nothing cooler~ And relaxing on the couch with a perfectly sweet, peaceful baby! and having Candice over... nothing better! Welcome Spring! So glad you are finally here!
Image
The boys helped me with the dishes today~ not at all like I would normally do them, but they did them perfectly..... And then they went and did this..... I love those boys....

Diet Dr. Pepper

I know, those words are like music to my ears also. But.... I do believe that the heavenly stuff is making me hold onto fat in my belly. Blah.. I excercise 6 days a week but nothing has seemed to change much since Joshy was about a year old. So one day, I will be done drinking the stuff or at least I will drink it way less than I do now. You do not want to know how much I drink now. And water? I barely even know what that stuff is. So one day I will be done. Maybe.... ~The main purpose of this post, besides being to let you all know of a fault of mine is to check and see if some new settings are working. And it looks as if they are~

Its never a good idea to play ball in the house....

Image
Especially if you are as good an aim as I am and hit your kid in the face. Don't you just love the look on his face? Poor Joshy, and yes, of course it was an accident! And if you want to see awesome Boise scenery, go to Candice's blog (Fowler Watchin' on the side over there) It was beautiful weather and we got some great excercise!
Image
If only we could all be nudist like Joshy, then I wouldn't have this problem~ In other news, I got in trouble by a craigslist seller because I supposedly never showed up to look at his table. I actually did show up and knocked three times and *no, I do not have a cell phone so I could not have called you!* I didn't really want the table that bad anyways.... I did go pick up Stephen from school today and saw the girls playing together on the playground~ Happy Day!!!

Homework and Clouds...

Image
It must be the beginning of March.. cloud gazing and not complaining when doing homework! Hallelujah!
