thrifty..

I dont do coupons or bargain shopping
but I LOVE a good thrift store.
I had a great time thrift shopping with Candice today. We went to the Goodwill by my house~lucky that i have one  so close~ and got some  great finds. Its usually hit and miss there. Today, I saw picture frames for 7.99!!! I was shocked. The prices are all over the place~ really high, or cheap.You never know.....
Anyway, I got that pillow for 1.99, originally  from Pier One. I have, of course, washed it and threw away the old pillow form and replaced it with one from a pillow I was tired of. It would be really disgusting to lay our heads on someones elses old drool marks, you know?
I got a Banana Republic skirt for 3.99, a Talbots dress (seriously, I think it's new) for 5.99 and those lovely curtains? 1.99!! Trevor couldn't believe they only cost that~ ha ha... he hates them but was kind enough to hang my curtain rod up for me tonight.. .. Im sure most people would hate them but I don't. And I get to decorate my own house, right? Plus they match my couch, which I have decided not to change. The color has actually grown on me. Who knew...
Oh, plus I got some plates for Emilys birthday party tomorrow. We are going to decorate cupcakes and send them home on their very own "vintage" plates. I can't believe my baby is turning 9.... sniff sniff...

I wish I lived by a Goodwill! My sister-in-law in West Jordan goes everyday I think and she finds the greatest stuff! I love the curtains... what great stuff!

I'm so jealous! We don't have any second hand stores by us so I'm always sad when I see all the great stuff people get. You should check out www.allthingsthrifty.blogspot.com They do awesome things with stuff from the D.I.

Lately, Carl is the only one who gets naps. (unless it's Sunday...then Trevor and I both demand one) If I was a big, hairy dog, I would expect naps everyday also and would just lay down where ever I wanted to (even it it was in everyone's way). You can just catch a glimpse of my moccasins. And trust me they.are.cute. I love  madewell . My new favorite singer this week? Cat Stevens. It took me watching the movie Harold and Maude to really listen to his music. Wow. And hey, I'm not going to be shy.  I'm going to sing out to the wild world that I love his songs. Prayers

We have just received news that earlier today my sister Amy and her family have been in a car accident. Tim and the five kids are okay, although banged up, but Amy is in the ICU. They hit hail while driving and the car rolled 3 times and Amy was ejected from the car. All we know so far is that she has broken ribs and  punctured lungs. Please, please please pray for her and her family. Thank you.

Ralph the dog.

Morning at my house is so bright and lovely~that is, as long as it's not snowing or preparing to snow. I made Annabelle open the curtains first thing this morning. When my mornings start out like this, warm and bright, it just makes me happy. Today Joshua decided to be a dog. A dog named Ralph. And Ralph loves raspberry sherbet. Ralph got really tired and is now resting while watching Shrek 2. Not my favorite movie but whatever... I think I misspoke yesterday when I wrote that I/we had big decisions to make. There's nothing out of the ordinary except for, you know, the usual. And the fact that we found out yesterday that both girls need braces; Emily now or at least soon and Annabelle in a year or so. And Stephen has possibly two developing cavities. At this moment in time, I am very, extremely, incredibly grateful for dental insurance. That may not be the case in a few months but I'm not thinking about that...and I'm trying to no...
