what a beautiful mess

This photo reminds me of that game (because of the black edges~ did you get that?). The one I played with my sweet babies and any baby I see now. I have babies on the brain. No worries. There will be no more here for us. It's a little sad but we definitely made the right decision.  I have babies on the brain cause I have two sisters pregnant and I am so excited for them! Amy is having a little girl in February and Candice is having a little "something" in February also.  Is there anyone else I'm missing? No? Yes? No? I can still vividly remember when I found out I was pregnant with each girl..... and I can vividly remember each labor with the boys. Maybe that's the difference between a "no pain" labor and an "I'm definitely feeling this baby come out" labor. The girls were easy-peasy and the boys were.... not so much.  Congratulations Amy and Candice!!!! I can't wait to meet my new nieces/or nephew...

Don't you miss seeing pictures of Joshy sleeping?  I'm happier when he's awake though. We are on week 2 of the kids being back in school and we have been super busy. I love, love, love the time I get to spend with him.  But it makes me wonder why he feels entitled to ice cream cones and chocolate milk whenever he feels like it... I  think I need to start holding back a little.  Maybe.... He's just such a sweet boy. The house is painted, thanks to some AWESOME men in our ward. Now we just have to do some trim paint and accent paint and it'll be done. It's lookin really good. It's not blue anymore and that is excellent! I can't wait to leave tomorrow and see it and come home tomorrow and see it. And then stand outside and stare at it for awhile. It'll be lovely.

Seriously, we picnicked in the bed of the truck, (phew, that was hard work)   rode skateboards, pushed a cute baby around in the stroller, tried really hard to look nice for the camera, and only Emily could really pull it off.  And I finally hemmed Emily's pants tonight.  I've been telling her for about  2 weeks now that  I would do it. I think today was an appropriate day to get it done, right? There's something so satisfying about doing a good hem job on a pair of pants, especially when you can't even tell it's  done and can just keep the original hem.  I learned that from a blog . So see, blogs are useful for something. 

What is it with us Haslems in Boise that like to take weird pictures of horses?  Although this one was Trevors fault while he was in D.C. Busy, busy day.... The nitty gritty of the day's not interesting but what is interesting? A good friend brought over some delicious brownies/yummy gooey goodness/dessert.  Deeeelicious. My kids got to play outside until 9:00 and what's better than staying up later than usual doing something you love to do? And I get to stay up late with Trevor doing something I love to do.  Finish off the brownies/yummy gooey goodness/dessert and be lazy.  What could be better???

Here's Joshua.  He, of course, has to go to the bathroom. It's like his second home.  Especially when we're in nice stores like  Anthropologie.  Then he really has to go to the bathroom. Probably cause he just doesn't want to be there. But then we left and went to a fountain  and ended up having to pee by the truck. It just couldn't be held in any longer.  And when you're a mom, you do what you have to do. Like shielding your child from onlookers.  And laughing as you do so...... I never thought I would ever, in a million years, do that. 

Do you think I should do it?  Huge change but change is good, right?

Blue house. You are now going  to be a beautiful Prairie Grass with some  Muddied Basil thrown in. Speaking of Basil, here some tomatoes we harvested today from our garden (doesn't basil and tomatoes just go together? along with feta cheese, sea salt and some crackers...) Anyway, the photo: I love this time of year.  We are painting this Saturday so when we're done, I'll go ahead and put some pictures on here for you all to see. Cause I know that's all you'll be thinking about. Wouldn't want to keep you waiting.... :)
