Popcorn...

This: turned into This: It's a hard life for a three year old.

Who knew we would look so hot in dollar store sunglasses? cause we totally do. I even have the whole cheesy puckered-lips thing going on. Kind of Brangelina-like, isn't it? (HAHAHA) On a more serious note~ Can I ever be good at doing laundry? Every Monday night as Trevor is about to shower, I hear "Sar~ do we have any clean whites?" So then I have to put a whole load in. Every. Monday. Night. I think I may just go buy some more "whites" for him....

A few things you may not have known about us.

Image
Or maybe wish you didn't. We believe that throwing fits under the table is the best spot. Dogs are the best companions while sleeping. Especially while dreaming of doing the chicken dance. We like to take very unflattering pictures  of each other. (this applies to above picture as well as some of the following:) We laugh at each other when one is throwing already mentioned fits. Trash cans are best when worn over the head. A little bum crack is not that big a deal. We wear pretty much anything as long as it covers the basics. And we still have not learned that throwing a fit is not the best solution. So there you go. I hope you all had a great Pioneer weekend. Can't wait to see some of you next weekend! The countdown has now begun....

I told Trevor I was going to update my blog while he showered so he gave me some very useless (but good) ideas of what I could write about (you don't want to know). But he's forgiven cause he made me an ice cream cone. "The ants go marching 5 by 5. Hurrah, Hurrah...." (our Anthem while hiking) We went to Camels Back again today. We ended up getting kind-of lost and it became a little more exciting when we ended up on Hill road about 3 blocks from where we should have been~ (me and Candice were having fun but the kids were getting onery and wanted some promised candy) While we were hiking Joshua said: "Someone needs to carry me." I think it's time we stop baby-ing my little baby. But it probably, most likely,  will not  be me. (it would be important for me to add that I did NOT carry him nor did anyone else. But I really wanted to.) Hope you all have a fun and exciting weekend. We have some Pioneer celebrating to do around here.. dutch oven dinner, ga...

What to blog about....

Image
I could blog about: *the really lame movie we saw today (Rugrats) *kids fighting *Joshua and Emily both getting hit by the frisbee tonight at the park (thrown by dad)~ their mean parents laughed~ but not until after making sure they were okay.  *my pretty red fingernails~ i love them. *yummy greek salads that everyone but joshy loved. *how excited I am for Bear Lake next week *the many movies I want to see *how trevor is so hungry he keeps pretend biting me. My very own Edward. (diets suck) I think I will just show off my sweet children eating cupcakes.

Today...

We walked through a beautiful rose garden~ I felt very "english"~ I just can't talk the talk~ and believe me I've tried. Candice on the other hand is all "Ello, Gov'ner" and Mary Poppin-ish sounding (im jealous)..... and we sat in a birds nest that looks like a pile of poo. It would have been fabulous except for the continual fighting and whining. I gave myself a 30  minute break (and the kids a 30 minute time out) Then trevor came home and it was better. We'll see how tomorrow is.

Love, the Haslems. (a classic family picture)

We were mistaken for the babysitters

and so decided to roll down hills and take immature pictures of ourselves. Well, me and the kids rolled down hills. Candice and her two babies really couldn't/shouldn't. We had a ton of fun hiking and playing and sitting on the bench drinking sodas. All 5 of us hiked up that monstrous hill. You can't see it all that well but trust me, it was steep. I was more scared than the kids. Josh kept saying "We're almost there, Mom". Just a good picture. They made it up the hill also. Candice was kind enough to keep asking me how I was doing. Buuuut I'm not sure if she was mocking me or not. one word: FUN!!

A really good day....

Image
Well, it was after a "stern" talking to the kids... all the fighting is making me batty. Plus Psych is back which means Chilis chips and salsa is back which means sitting on the couch watching Psych and eating Chilis chips and salsa is back. I'm crazy with happiness.  And it's been a really great evening. Do you notice the table Steveo is sitting at? We got clever. We couldn't afford a nice new Patio set so we used one of these: It's a electical spool thingy. It was sitting on the side of the road with a free sign. Actually there were three so we took two. I may paint it, I may not. Either way Stephen looks really cool sitting there reading and writing. Plus, there's a hole in the middle perfectly sized for an umbrella, which we may or may not one day get . Tomorrow's the zoo and Camels Back hiking and Costco and nacho-movie night. It'll be a very busy, fun-filled day. We may even squeeze in a Target trip.

He must love me...

cause be brought me home this today.. YUMMY!

Stephen had a great afternoon. Actually, we all did. Especially since we got seranaded by him. And he did such a good job singing "Eye of a Liger". Did I say Liger? Why, yes I did. It's his favorite animal this week. I am especially loving the way he wears his hat. So cool. Plus, he got to play the Nintendo. He loves to play it but it only works half the time. AND The girls and I made cupcakes this evening and this is the end result. They SO did not work out. So we just ate the top off all of them and they were delicious.

a rare photo...

Image
And I'll tell you why. For starters, I am not the one taking the photo. And because Trevor knows his picture is getting taken and he's not hiding or making a goofy face. I like it.  Anyone else notice the lampshade that is crooked?

Just a couple of more...

I took pictures of my kids after church today and these are the end results... They look sunkissed and happy.. that's what summertime does to us.

It all started with swimming....

Image
Joshua doesn't like help with putting on  his goggles. That would be why they're all skiddywhompus. And he doesn't even care. Side note: Last night during prayers, I was helping him and I told him to say "Please bless my grandmas, grandpas, aunts, uncles and cousins." He said: "Please bless my grandmas, grandpas, aunts, GRUMPLES, and cousins." I'll admit, we all giggled a little. After swimming, before nacho-movie night (we watched My Girl and I cried), we got a manicure and pedicure by sweet Annabelle. My fingers ended up like this: Not too bad, I'd say. And this is how it ended. For Joshua anyway.

The kids and I counted  69 red cars today on the way home from Costco. This man came home from the dentist and made it 70 red cars~ a lot of people like red... Check out that "just from the dentist" mouth!
