Washington D.C.

Glenn Beck Rally: Trevor said there were more people than you can possibly imagine.  He said people were packed in like sardines. Washington D.C Temple. He was able to go Saturday evening.  Washington Memorial. It's two colors. During the civil war, they ran out of money to complete it and so had to do it later. Hence, the different color halfway up. (You can kind of see it from this picture) Looking down at the Lincoln Memorial from the Washington Memorial: World War Two Memorial.  This ones for you, P.J.: Looking at the Lincoln Memorial: Someones meditating and it's not Trevor: (he may also be trying to channel Abe's spirit. Who wouldn't) Isn't this amazing? Trevor said it's like 19 feet tall, I think.  It reminds me of Planet of the Apes. Actual hat that Lincoln was wearing when assassinated: Trevor thought this was funny but I still don't get it.  (Don't tell him I said that) Steel beams from the Twin Towers: Arlington Cemetery: A very ...

Our activities today....

Image
*   Cleaned the house * Jumped on the bed in our undies (Josh, not me. That would be weird.) * Ate at Carls Jr. (gasp!! Fast Food?? unheard of here! joking ~kind of.) * Picked up Trevor from the airport. HALLELUJAH! He's been in Washington D.C. for the Glenn Beck rally. He got to visit a lot of really cool places and took some really good photos that I'll share tomorrow. I know, I know. You want them now, but you will just have to wait. :) * Made lasagna and salad and brownines as a homecoming treat for daddy. Nothing fancy just yummy. We missed him soooooooooooooooooooooooooo much. Stephen cried every night for him and every night, it broke my heart.  * Break-danced. Well, Stephen and Joshua did. They did the robot too. And the worm.  So that's about it.....  Oh wait.. that's right! The kids started school today!!! Which they loved by the way. Totally excited to go back tomorrow. That's a success, I'd say... Thank heavens I took advantage of...

The Finale... kind of...

School starts tomorrow. :(  Ah well, life must go on. Fun is good but so is having a schedule and learning new things and meeting new people.  So it's going to be just me and Joshy during the day.  What in the world will we do with ourselves??~  I have wonderful visions of a sparkly clean house with the beds made every day and never a dirty dish in the sink and laundry perfectly folded while still warm from the dryer. Maybe dinner ready before 7 o'clock p.m. But I'm really going to miss lazy days and hiking on fridays and picnics and fighting and laughing. We've had a really good weekend. But one of us decided to do something else. I'll give you clue... the answer is somewhere in this picture: I'll fill you in tomorrow on what it was. If you don't already know. :)  (and it did not include anna banana~ but isn't that such a funny/cute picture of her?)

The Giver

Best book I have read in a while now. I never had to read it in High School and I'm kind of glad. I don't think I would've appreciated it then.  You should read it if you haven't.  I think my next book should be The Hunger Games. Trevor read it and loved it and so has every other person in the world! Or should I say Ward??? :)

There are a lot more pictures of loved ones I need to get up here... I think I need some picture frames~

Praying....

Image
Joshua told me tonight that Jesus told him that he needs to get a motorcycle. Then during Stephens prayers he thanked Heavenly Father  for letting us get the movie "Diary of a Wimpy Kid"  tonight for nacho-movie night. They are thinking and feeling and that is a good thing. I think I will thank Heavenly Father for that  in my own prayers tonight.

Birds and Bangs

Image
We killed a bird on the way home. Actually, the bird flew into our windsheild so it wasn't our fault, right? Can you see the stuff (?) it left behind? It made me scream and my heart hurt. It was sad only to me. Everyone else had a good laugh. If I didn't know better I would say he did it on purpose.  I mean, look at his face? Looks guilty to me. And the girls got bangs. I wasn't going to let them but I say no to so many other styles they want, that I figured I could give in this once. And they look absolutely adorable. (Trevor is going to kill me in the morning when he sees I put that picture of him on here for everyone to see.) Here's payback (to myself) Annabelle caught me unaware as I was coming out of the bathroom at the zoo. So there you go. A really bad picture of me and Trevor and a really cute picture of the girls.  What a treat.

Stephen was scared again tonight but after a few "home" remedies (ie: trevor reading scriptures through his armpit and a prayer, etc) he was all better. I'm glad to hear that it runs in the family. Although it just may come from his mother also. I remember as a little girl I was always afraid I was going to die in my sleep (sad, huh?). My dad made me feel better by describing a very fun heaven to me. It was all "Jetson"-like and futuristic. I love that memory of my dad. These photos were taken while Trevor mowed the lawn (no kidding) Buuuuut Stephen walked beside him the whole time. Stephens going to have a lot of good memories like that about his dad too.

I'm trying to think of a way to tie all these photos into one another without the usual Friday post.... I've decided that it's just too hard so I'll just add a little caption under each. Sound okay? Stephen is laying on a bed of nails. But no harm done. See that face? He was just having a little fun. Joshua decided to do a little grocery shopping. On the list: chocolate, cottage cheese and produce. Sounds a lot like my regular shopping list. Anna can't decide what the kid in front of her is doing. He may have gone crazy and knocked everything off the shelves. Or she's just contemplating her own shopping list. Now here she is pulling herself up  to the ceiling with a rope. Did I ever mention that in gymnastics she could climb all the way to the top of the rope that was like 30 feet high? So yea, the chair was a piece of cake.   He's got Grandpa B.'s bite. As evidenced in the apple he ate at 9:30 tonight. Check out Emilys adorable eyebrows and smile. This ...

Just passing on some good advice

Image
Here it is: Praying as a couple. On Sunday, during Sacrament meeting, a man in our ward encouraged us to pray together as couples, morning and night. Trevor and I have always prayed at night together (I must admit, it's been at Trevors encouragement) and I have continually seen blessings come from it. But praying in the morning as a couple? I barely wake up enough to say : "I love you. Have a great day." But this week I have managed to drag myself to my knees with Trevor to pray and I have loved it and have felt the effects of it throughout the day. So there you go. Im just passing on some good advice. (not praying here, just checking out our garden) On a side note, this is the third night this week I have a child up being scared. First it was Emily (understandable since she was told a very scary story), then Stephen because we watched Penelope (my fav) and he was scared of the pig nose, and now Emily again because they watched Pee Wee's Big Adventure and apparent...

I started running again. I've said that about once a year since I was in High School. I hate starting to run. But I quit when winter comes and then start again in the spring. Except this year. I started in February, stopped in June and am starting again in August. This time I'm determined to not stop. Im going to just keep on running through the winter. Maybe. It gets really cold here in Boise. But anyway. I go about 30 minutes, getting in about 2 1/2 miles. Really slow.  Like really, really slow. But I do it. You should do it with me. We can meet somewhere in the middle and run a race together. Anyone up for running a race with someone who will complain the whole time and sweats buckets? Oh, but I am determined and will not stop until I'm on the very verge of fainting. And when I'm done, there is no one happier than me.   Anyone? Anyone? Since my posts feel empty when I don't have a picture, I'm adding this. Cause I love it: My "on-again, off-aga...

Fact.

I do not take out the trash or the recycling. I do not like to sweep the floor and will wait until I'm purposely walking on the carpet just to wipe my feet off to actually sweep. I will sometimes wait until we are digging our clean clothes out of piles before I actually fold it. (and then have wrinkly clothes for the next week)  But I have 4 very good excuses for not doing these things. And here they are at the Boise Art Museum: (The Boise Art Museum was the best 8 dollars ever spent. We seriously loved it.)

Fun from the weekend

Just pictures....they say it all..... and I like dots.........
