a little ghetto

but thats okay.... Missionaries came for dinner last night and our true colors came through. We thought a bbq would be a great idea since they didn't like beans or mexican food (staples in our home). I just forgot while planning the meal that I no longer buy napkins or paper towels (don't ask me why). Who doesn't have napkins when eating hamburgers and corn on the cob? So..... dishtowels were set out with the plates. I don't think they minded since they stayed for quite awhile~ and there were a lot of laughs during the evening. Plus they really enjoyed the HUGE marshmellows (see previous post, a couple days past). They were a huge hit. Heres me and trevor enjoying our dinner tonight in a non-traditional way.... Trevor has tomorrow off so big day for us.. shooting, hiking, picnic-ing, swimming and having a grand time bein' together....

Beautiful Day

Image
I've got a few things on my mind.... one of them being Lee Dewyzes new single. Does anybody not love this song? And sung by him instead of U2~ even better.... AND it's been a beautiful day here. And here is a beautiful picture of two beautiful people. And today is the start of a beautiful weekend.

My dearest sister Amy, I'm so sorry that you had such an embarrassing moment today at Ross Dress For Less. Maybe next time, you will know better than to try on shirts over your clothes. I mean, what a pain to have to stand there in the middle of the store in your bra while you look for your own shirt....I'm just sayin'. But Im so glad you got a good laugh and allowed us the same~ I LOVE YOU!!! By the way, I haven't always called it Ross Dress For Less but one time Trevors coworker called it that-in all seriousness. So now, we do too. My apologies if you also call it that but for realsies. And because I can't get this off my mind: I'M SO HAPPY THAT LEE DEWYZE WON AMERICAN IDOL!!!!! WAHOOOOOO!

Peace was disturbed in our house tonight and resulted in these two girlies going to bed early. Lucky for them, they went to "sleep" early too. Trevor took care of it. I claim to have been downstairs doing the dishes, rocking to Taylor Swift (it's where you'll find me most of the time)~ Aren't these the largest marshmellows ever???

Fun times....

Some pictures from our weekend... Father/Son campout meant a girls night out to dinner and a movie, date night for me and Trevor (awesome btw), yummy Sunday dinner, and a whole lotta fun....

Annabelle's photo shoot

She had just gotten home from gymnastics and the last thing she wanted to do was have her picture taken by mom. I made her anyway. Lots of times.  Isn't she just the cutest???

Product Reviews

Just because I think you all care.... I may just be the last person on the planet to try this stuff but if not, go try it. I expected a lot more from it when I first tried it but after a couple of days, I'm hooked. Seriously, I love it. It has great conditoning elements and because of that it made my hair a little flatter and flighty-er (?)~ opposite of what I need. So I found this: I love this stuff even more! Love, love, love.  Seriously.  It gave me the texture, lift and messy-ness that I love. If you have hair like me, I suggest using the two together or find your own texturizer that you love. But the one above is the best. Okay so if I payed full price for these, which luckily I didn't (I knew I kept my liscense for a reason- Just kidding), it would have been &pricey& but if you are in need...  And since you're all family, if you want me to get you some for 40% off and mail it to you, just let me know...  next po...

Batman and running...

Candice told me I should name this blog "Joshys blog"  cause there's so many dang pictures of him~ My excuse is that he is home with me all day long which means more opprotunities for me to capture his cuteness~ So today, I got some pictures of Emily at her awards ceremony for Girls on the Run~ She got the Awesome Attitude award. Its really a great program. I think if Anna decides to quit gymnastics next year then she will do GOTR also. Emily loved it! For some strange reason, blogger keeps uploading this picture upside down...? He fell asleep like this yesterday.. the kid sleeps in the weirdest positions!

It's been one of those days....

And while I want to say the best day EVER, it just hasn't. But it hasn't been bad either. I did wake up at 6:30 and do yoga, then vacuumed the house, went to the store (the store-that-shall-not-be-named. Okay- it's walmart- hate that place). But 1:30 hit and the absence of my 44 ounce Diet Dr. Pepper started to show the tell-tale signs of withdrawl. AHHH~ exhaustion set in. But I got to go do a sweet little boys haircut, earn slushy money for the boys and get me a Light lemonade. That was nice.  AND... it is now flip flop weather and that is a very good thing! (please ignore the boys nasty toenails in the above picture... off to do some trimming now...)

Stephen turned 6 years old yesterday!! Besides being his birthday, we had a super crazy busy day . But he did get to work with Trevor on the sprinklers and he said that was great! aren't they practically identical???   He got Legos, which he now loves and a game of Dominoes. Luckily for us, he loves those also. Apparently, he plays them at school. Who knew? In the first picture, I edited out his HUGE cold sore on his upper lip but decided to leave it alone on the rest. It's pretty nasty. Some things I love about Steve-o: -he's very sweet and caring. -tries his hardest to open doors for all the ladies (thank you, daddy) -has beautiful blue eyes and an amazing smile. -he makes me laugh~ he can be so goofy and funny! -he tries so hard to be good! I taught him in Primary today and I was so pleased at how he behaved~ he wanted to sit by me and help me and listen to the speakers and he sang the songs~ and we both learned how to sign a Pri...

Just relaxin' all cool...

Image
which is exactly what we did all day long. Well, relaxing to us. We went downtown, shopping, got some ice cream and had a really good day. Shopping didn't prove fruitful for me, since I didn't get what I went to get but tomorrow is another day~~~ How cool is that? Even cooler? It's steveos 6th birthday~ He's so excited. And so are we.

to bed at 10 and up at 5

Image
Thats's right, Joshua went to bed at ten o'clock last night and got up at five (well 5:30, I got a little lazy). It was perfect because he slept through his whole test today which is exactly what he was suppossed to do. He was such a good boy that he got a root beer float when we were done. And I got a bagel sandwich cause I did really good too... (as if that matters!) And my other sweet babies each asked if Joshua was okay when they first saw me this afternoon. (making banana bread at 5:30 a.m) Now, after a busy day of Scouts, American Idol, tests, and everyday motherly duties, Im off to bed to read a couple of good books and of course, to wait for Trevor to get done with his nightly routine~... GOOD night!

Stephen gave the Lesson for FHE last night~ he did a great job with his lesson on prayer and the priesthood. Then we got the kids to sing a song for us~ here is a picture of what happened: Annabelle was singing, Stephen for some reason had his hand down his pants and Emily giggled uncontrollably the whole time. Meanwhile, Joshua was doing this: Joshua has to stay up two hours later than his bedtime tonight and wake up two hours earlier than normal in the morning and he can have no naps tomorrow until after his test~ which is in the afternoon.  Wish us luck.

Is there anything better~

Than being a Mother???? I don't think so. Acually, I know there isn't. I was pampered, showered with love, given dozens (seriously, dozens) of cards and letters. All within those lovely 12 hours of celebration. I've decided that all four children are my absolute favorite children. No one ever said I had to choose, right? Trevor, hard at work making my Mothers Day dinner~ Saturday Candice watched all four kids so we could take 5 wonderful hours to ourselves.  We got to see 7 Parade of Homes and go to Costco, which was surprisingly enjoyable without kids. There was only one problem the whole mothers day. Joshua did some weird fainting spell/ convulsion/seizure thing. We just about had 911 dialed when he stopped. I took him to the Doctor today and have an EEG scheduled for wednesday. She thinks that everything is okay just that he may faint easily~like his mother! :)  One of the scariest moments of my life, though. But he's fine. She is just running the test to ...

Happy Mothers Day!

Dear Mom, I haven't seen you in about 3 months and I miss you. I really wish I could see you today, especially today. You have taught me so much about life, love and faith. I  am who I am in large part because of you. I hope you have a lovely day. I love you. love Sarah

I want to blog, Im just not sure what about...

Im feeling a tad random and a tad nostalgic. I don't know why. Maybe it's because my screen saver is of every single digital picture I have ever taken~ just keeps flipping through those photos. Trevor and I often feel the need to be simpler. But then we remember that we are "simpletons" Really, how much simpler could we get? It's a good thing. 2005 2006 oh, didn't you know that we're friends with George? Everyone should be. He's great. Haven't seen him much lately, though... 2007 2008 2009 2010 Me, this morning, courtesy of Stephen. Trevor, about 5 minutes ago. He doesn't go to bed without me, he just falls asleep wherever I am. I love it. Which is probably why he does it. Us as we usually are, on the couch, talking, watching t.v., taking random pictures of ourselves.   So there you go. Now I'm off to bed. After I wake up Trevor so we can go upstairs together... He's my best friend, you know.

American Idol = Joshua sleeping

Tonight Joshua told us he has a nipple on his chin... This kid keeps us on our toes for sure!

(Joshy got a haircut) Last weekend we rented Star Wars for the boys. All day today Joshy says he's watching "Star Whores"... Ha Ha HA!

Amazing.....

Emily's 5k~

Image
Emily did so awesome!!! I am so dang proud of her... We got a time of 39 mins. I think pretty good for her very first race~ She just kept on going and going and going... Trevor and the kids met us at the finish line and surprised us with these signs... Annabelles idea, she's so sweet! If you notice Stephens sign on the left, he put a repeat sign (like in music) because he didn't have enough room to write "you can do it" twice. I guess the piano lessons are working!! Ha Ha! Oh, but it was so so cold... Isn't it supposed to be May??? Forecast is in the fifties all this week.... Have I said how excited I am for summer????
