Texts from Candice

Candice: I just found a rather large fish bone in my tuna. Isn't that gross? I am grossed out for some reason. Sarah: That's disgusting... I got one better. I found the butchers glove in my bacon last night. Candice: What??? Ewwwww! You totally forever win! That is so so SOOO gross! Sarah: I know, right? do i get a prize for the most disgusting story? Candice: ABBsolutely!! seriously that's bothersome. I may never eat bacon again now. Jk but thats pretty dang bad. Are you scared for life? Sarah: No, i still cooked the bacon and ate it. :) We seriously did. hopefully no one gets a life threatening disease. that'd be a terrible prize. Candice: Haha that's funny I hope not though! That would be horrible! Watch for signs though:) The end. I did a special reading of this to my family at the dinner table tonight, Candice. I thought you might like that. really, really wish you were here....and that we were splitting a Chronic Taco. oh and by the way, I to...

Family time....

Playing old school Ninetendo.  We introduced our kids to the wonderful world of Tetris.  I forgot how addicting that game is.  And Trevor kicks butt at it.  I was seriously amazed at his awesomeness. We had a little tournament tonight and much to the other kids dismay, Stephen won. And so got an extra big piece of dessert. But then the kids went to bed and me and Trev had a little bit more. In all fairness, we opted out of the tournament because of our mad skills and so deserved an extra piece. I imagine in no time at all, they will be beating us. That's just the way kids are these days. ********************************* Forgive me for having to add that since I'm on my "30th" day of the month (if you know what I mean), I was a little ornery. My kind husband took the kids out for a bit so I could have a little quiet time and returned home with a Diet Dr. Pepper just for me. I love that man, in case I haven't yet made that point before. That is all.

Spring cleaning and other stuff

Image
That's what I did today. I cleaned out closets and the kitchen and organized a bit and got rid of some stuff. These kind of days always make me feel so good. Especially since last night we went to our storage shed and got out some stuff. Like all of our food storage and summer stuff and my ORANGE COUCH!!! Oh yeah...! I love that couch. It just makes me happy. To you, it may look like an ugly, old lady couch. But it has a lot of memories connected to it and I love it.... *************************** Tonight was Jenee's play and she did awesome! We were so happy to be able to be there to see it. Seriously Jenee, you did great!  **************************** Anyone have any suggestions as to how to get my kids to start talking without an attitude? Is that asking too much? I'm at a loss as to what to do and am starting to wonder if it's just normal and that theres nothing I can do about it....  **************************** I did not exercise today. But I did e...

We celebrate Easter at our house.

Image
Here are just some of the ways we do that: We put bags over our heads.  Trevor gives people rides on his shoulders.  We play UNO. We take silly pictures of each other.  And we don't clean the kitchen.  (don't look at the cute couple in the pic below, instead look in the sink.  See? dirty dishes....) And it was a great Easter.  If I had to pick a favorite Easter celebration, this one would be in my top 11.  We got to spend Saturday eating dinner at Scott and Jenees with her family and we had such a fun time! And Sunday was peaceful and relaxing.  Seriously, even with 4 kids in our little home, it was peaceful. And relaxing.  And if you don't believe me, I'll say it again.  Peaceful and Relaxing.  A really great weekend.

I can't think of a title.

I think Trevor may be getting old. For the only reason that tonight while we were watching "Gullivers Travels" I looked over at him and noticed salsa in his beard and a drip on his shirt. Sometimes, compared to him I feel like a bit of a slob. And so it's little things like salsa dripping down his chin that make me love him even more. ************************* Since Trevor was out of town this week, I didn't get the exercise I needed but I did do yoga two other times this week so I haven't been a complete failure. But I've failed with being accountable to my blog for it.  Oh well.  Here's hoping that I do better next week.

I am so going to hear it when he gets home.

Image
and by "he" I mean  HIM: I promised him that when we moved into this house, I would leave all pictures up on the wall where I originally put them, I wouldn't change them or anything. Well, I changed them. All of the pictures hanging up in the hallway are now sitting on my bed and I put some different things up. A girl has got to change things up once in a while to keep it fresh, right? On a side note, he won't get too crazy mad at me cause he's been gone since Sunday. He got home late last night so we've only seen each other for a total of 2 hours in 6 days. And that's including the 3 different times I went in to visit him at work today. And he missed me. So I really think he'll be able to overlook the million extra nail holes in our walls that he'll have to patch in a few months. But still I may just get the eye (and not the good eye)....

Confidence

I've been thinking about my mouth a lot lately (that's weird, right?) Mainly because I have a wisdom tooth growing in and it hurts like the dickens. Seriously painful... (it has caused my lymph nodes to swell and I have a sore throat; but I won't be going to the dentist) I've always been self conscious about my teeth. I have a lot of spaces and I'm missing a couple of teeth (you can't really tell) and apparently I'm going to be losing one sometime soon. I would hate to have that tooth just fall out right in the middle of a conversation with someone. I grew up with my siblings getting work done; braces, retainers, binator. Have you ever seen a binator? Actually have you ever heard someone talk with a binator in their mouth? Pretty much impossible. So my siblings had all these things done to their mouths and I never had anything done. Sad for me, right? (not really) I also got made fun of (good natured fun) because my mouth kind of resembles a horse when ...

cravings...

It started with Triscuits and went to Rosemary and Herb Triscuits, then it was Runts (which took weeks to find. crazy, huh?) and then I talked to Jenee about candy and how she's avoiding it and it went to all candy in general. I don't know why. Today I got myself a big Laffy Taffy and was jealous that Joshua got a Fun Dip... What is wrong with me? And for the past week, I've eaten at least 5 cows a day (not meat cow, butterscotch cow).. They're all just so yummy... I refuse to step into a store tomorrow though so (hopefully) I crave something here at home. Dang it, I just remembered I have a 5 lb bag of chocolate chips in the freezer.... (this picture has no purpose other than reminding me that summer will come!) (exercise was hard to happen today but i got in a 2.5 mile walk in freezing cold wind! is it ever going to be warm??)

Yummy....

We had a great, great weekend.  Trevor and I tried to go out both on Friday and Saturday but each time it got interrupted.  On Friday Emily hurt her ankle and threw up so we canceled our babysitter and  ordered Cafe Rio (close enough to nachos, right?) and watched a movie. Saturday our babysitter had something come up so we ended up sneaking  away for an hour to eat dinner alone. Well almost alone.  We saw some friends at the restaurant and sat with them for a bit while they finished their drinks.  Plus, Jenee and I went for a run which was awesome. I love running with others even if all we do is run side by side listening to our own music. Although at one point, I did accidentally spit my gum out at her so she may never want to go with me again... sorry about that again, Jenee! And they had us over for dinner last night. Whats better than yummy food and  good company?  Absolutely nothing.   Only down side to the weekend was Pr...

Just some thoughts

Image
*I get to go out tonight on a date. With who, you ask??? Why, Trevor, of course! *I keep researching counter tops on the internet. If I ever have to buy some (hopefully soon) I will get       Caesarstone . I love the Polished Blizzard. I have lots of ideas running through my mind and have realized that I have more Modern taste than I had thought. Who knew? *I am going to buy a very dark nail polish today. I get a little girl time with Jenee at the Beauty Store and I can't wait. *Im exercising more now that it's starting to get warmer outside. Although the weather shouldn't matter cause I've only ran 2x's in the last week and done yoga more.. which is done inside where it's warmer. Hmmm... *Next week is going to be tough. That's all I'm going to say about that. *Did I mention that I get to go on a date tonight???? *I cannot wait for summer. I was looking though our old summer pictures from last year and I got all excited. But back then my summer was...

This is what 5 haircuts amounts to:  The most comfortable spot on the couch:  Chillin' and relaxin' while getting a haircut: Trevor does this most nights.  But it doesn't help that last night he only got 4 1/2 hours of sleep.  And its also what he's doing right now while I sit at the computer: Just a normal evening in our home. Nothing better.

Anna banana

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways... I love: Anna's laugh,  her craziness,  how she says "I love you" at least ten times at night before bed. I love how she pretends to go to sleep but secretly watches the opening part of Conan each night  (although we should talk about that missy...). I love her self confidence and her (good) attitude.  I love that she tries so hard to do what's right.  I love Annabelle.

Happy Birthday Emily

My most favorite 10 year old in the whole wide world... I love her.  She makes me laugh.   She is her own unique, special, wonderful girl.  Our lives are a  million, billion, trillion times better with her in it.  You make us so happy Emily.  Happy Birthday sweet girl!

iTunes

iTunes is really great. I bet it's even better if  you have an "i" thing.. which I don't but my family still got me a gift card to iTunes for my birthday. They're so sweet. Seriously, it was a very thoughtful gift knowing how much I love music. It has been said before, here on this very blog, that I do not  possess sophisticated taste in music. Let me prove to you my eclectic taste in music by typing out the songs I bought with my 25.00. "Eternal Flame" the Bangles (it's been my favorite song since childhood; how could  I not buy it?) "Holy Water" Big and Rich "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" Celine Dion (7 minutes and 37 seconds of glorious  music) "Fallin` For Your", "Bubbly", "Magic", all Colbie Caillat "Big Girls Don't Cry" Fergie (I think it's important to note here that it was  between this song and "Killing Me Softly" sung by the Fugees. But Stephen wante...

Weird Al...

Image
The other day, the kids and I were spending quality time together sitting around watching youtube videos. I started Weird Al's "FAT"  and left the room for a minute to take care of a little bidnez.... As I am taking care of said business, I over hear the kids giggling and Annabelle say: "They are not using proper grammar." I think Weird Al Yankovic may be lost on my children. But it was at least funny....

Thats what I've been.. missing in action.  It's been a busy week and a half.  This is what I did a lot of while in Kansas: I also drove people around. A lot.  And ran out of gas once.  (sorry Tim) I missed my babies like crazy as evidenced by all the texts Trevor and I exchanged.  Some were pretty funny. I took the time yesterday to type them all out cause I want to remember them all! 7 pages worth of texts.  Let me share one: Trevor: Any shuttle yet? Sarah: On it now just about to leave. How are the kids? miss me yet? Trevor: Haven't come out yet., but I'm sure they do. I already do. Love you! Don't sit by any weirdo's. Sarah: Got it and I didn't. I miss you too already~ I'll call you when I get to slc. Trevor: Sounds good. Enjoy a little book time. Sarah: I have had an unnatural craving for triscuits lately~ I bought fire roasted tomato ones today and they are delicious~ I'm bored. Trevor: They sound delish... especially to a guy on a low carb die...
